Hui Xin Children's Hospice

Hui Xin Children’s Hospice (located in the Hong Kou District) provides a loving home for over 100 disabled orphans, most of whom are below 10 years old. The children are playful and outgoing, with smiles brighter than sunshine. Their basic needs (such as clothing and food) are well provided for, but there are other expenses in need of donations. These expenses include physical therapy treatment fees for children with cerebral palsy, and the salary of hired teachers. Children with cerebral palsy have trouble moving some of their muscles, and physical therapy treatment can help them develop better control of their muscles. There is also a teaching program in which teachers go to the orphanage regularly to give lessons to the children who cannot attend school. Right now the children are learning numbers, shapes, pinyin, and simple characters.

Make A Child Smile helps fundraise for physical therapy treatment and for the teaching program. We also visit the orphanage to play with the children, read with them, and help feed them during mealtimes. Hope you can help out too!
